I'm new to pfsense and I have a network that has a couple of wireless IP cameras on it.  These are dead simple devices that don't have SNMP or anything like that.  I was hoping to be notified if they don't respond to a ping.  I am aware of the gateway monitoring feature for the WAN but is that capable of monitoring multiple LAN clients as well? Is pfsense the right tool for that?  Is there a package to do this?

I feel like Zabbix, nagios, etc are a little overkill for my needs at the moment but thought I would ask before taking those on.  Thanks!

If all want to do is monitor something via ping.. Smokeping would be what I would look into.
