      Hi all.

Just wondering if pfSense is affected by the vulnerability recently discovered in the Linux kernel.

      Thanks

      Joe

If you're referring to the 'Dirty Cow' vulnerability, to the best of my knowledge this only applies to the Linux kernel. BSD and Linux kernels are developed independently, so unless there is any plan to merge the two (difficult given their licenses as well as technical differences) then I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Yes, it was the Dirty Cow vulnerability.
I didn't realize they used separately developed kernels.

          Thank you.

Correct, Dirty COW only affects Linux.  BSD's (Net/Open/Free)BSD are not affected because they are not Linux.
