      Hi All,
I am trying to setup email notifications in the advanced setup. The email server I want to use is on one of the internal networks in pfsense, which is working fine. I cannot seem to get a connection when I try to go to this email server. Is there a firewall rule I need to add to use an internal email server for notifications?

My email server is @ 192.168.20.2. This is the error I get
Error: could not connect to the host "192.168.20.2": ??

I also tried using the external IP with same results.

      Help! :-X

SSH or open a console to your pfSense box.

        Type:

        telnet 192.168.20.2 25

        Do you get a connection?
If not, then your SMTP server is blocking the connection from pfSense, or is listening on a nonstandard port (i.e. not TCP25)

What are the settings you are using in System / Advanced / Notifications / E-Mail?
