I have several Pfsense machines and wanted to be able to run BOINC in the back ground as they are at idle most of the time.
Yeah that is pretty bad idea….. So you pfsense isn't firewalling any traffic? There are no clients on the network at all? So lets burn its cpu to 100% ?
Putting such stuff on your "firewall" is not really a good idea.. Do they have a freebsd port, then you should be fine... Looks like you would have to compile it. So do that on some other freebsd box of your users. And then move the files you need to pfsense.
Again going to say this is a REALLY BAD IDEA!!!!

You can compile the boinc ports on a FreeBSD 10.3 system and copy the packages over to your pfSense system and install them manually with pkg add. Needless to say don't blame us if you break your system by doing so.
^ hehehe great minds think a like ;) Beat you to the punch though.. hahahaha
