I wasn't able to find the answer via search on the forums here so I am going to post my question. I am using a Samsung laptop to test out pfsense and it only has one oneboard NIC. So for one of the ports I am using a USB network dongle and it doesn't show up in the menus for various other configuration items. Specifically when I try and setup traffic shaping it only shows the on-board NIC as LAN.

Is there a fix for this?

You need a NIC that has ALTQ support in FreeBSD.
