    Hello pfSense community!

    I am hoping you can help me troubleshoot a issue of not being able to get VLANs working with a new NetGate SG-4860 pfSense box and a NetGear GS748T switch.

    The problem I am running into is not getting any DHCP from the ports on any VLAN outside of the native VLAN.

    My current config has igb1 as the WAN, igb0 as the LAN, VLAN11 with parent igb2. I've verified DHCP does work when I assign igb2, give it an IP with DHCP service, but VLANs will not get an address.

    I've followed the steps mentioned here https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/3d33i4/pfsense_not_assigning_ip_addresses_on_vlan/ by SirEDCaLot

    …but I cannot get anything other than the native VLAN on the switch to get an address from DHCP.

    Any help on this would be much appreciated.

          RESOLVED: The issue with my setup was an additional setting needed for the NetGear switch, will post the resolution and additional details when i finish.

            @Chrismallia:

            A firewall rule was not needed for this config, however that is something very commonly mentioned as a possible issue.
