Tried this on pfSense-20080911-1033.img and pfSense-20080912-0133.img
with the same results. Platform is embedded on an Alix2c3 with an atheros wireless card. Not sure if this is specific to wireless, haven't tested extensively.

Fresh load, assigned interfaces. Logged in, enabled OPT2 (wireless), set as static, configured as AP. Saved.
Then the webgui asplode. Browser returns a 401 unauthorized. Tried restarting webconfigurator from console port, got several errors:
      Restarting webConfigurator…
Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /etc/inc/shaper.inc on line 3142
      done.

      *** Welcome to pfSense 1.3-ALPHA-ALPHA-embedded on  ***

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /etc/inc/util.inc on line 390

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /etc/inc/util.inc on line 390

EDIT: Appears the config gets trashed. A restart results in screenfulls of errors about scalar values on startup, but resetting the config back to default gets the system sane again.

EDIT: Configuring OPT1 (ethernet) works fine, so this looks like a wireless specific issue.
