    Installing pfSense on old, Soekris Net 4501?

      IF the current version of pfSense will even install on an old, Soekris Net 4501 (64Mb RAM and 133Mhz processor, 8Gb compact flash), would you think it's performance might be acceptable for my home use with only two computers, mine and my Wife's? If you think that's unlikely or the performance would be awful, maybe I should look for a lighter-weight, Linux based firewall like…?

          Aside from being below the minimum specs, performance would be very poor on that hardware. If it would run at all, it would likely struggle to pass more than single digit numbers of Mbit/s throughput.

          It's not worth the effort.
