      This seems a basic question, but I haven't managed to find anything about it yet. Most of the products here have a WAN port, a LAN port, and some number of OPT* ports. What is the difference between LAN and OPT*? What does OPT stand for/mean?

        They are optional ports.. You can use them for a "lan" side connection or a "wan" side connection..
