im running pfsense on a firebox without acpi and im trying to configure a shutdown script that gets ran over ssh with keys but I need pfsense to halt kill processes and pause cpu and not shutdown as shutting down just causes it to reboot. I have tried the halt command but got same results it just rebooted.

Not sure if that will help, I am shutting down/power off with this command:

        /sbin/halt -p

          Hi.

          Maybe with:

          yes | /etc/rc.initial.halt

both result in a reboot. I remember on previous pfsense versions I was able to truly just halt the system with the halt command something has changed in newer versions.

this also makes my ups/nut configuration useless.
