Just looking for things to check/validate or web pages with more info…

About once a week, DNS lookup fails with my pfSense server. This occurs for every site I try / its not site specific.

This lasts about 5 - 10 mins and then everything works again. DNS names get resolved and web pages load.

I have set my own DNS servers in pfSense with 127.0.0.1 being the first entry. The other two entries are not those provided by my ISP, but those I set using NameBench.

So it seems like the DNS cache is getting cleared and there is a substantial delay in reloading it.

Any ideas where to look? Logs/Settings/Web sites with more info?

      Thanks!

P.S. During this DNS outage, I can't even call up my pfSense Dashboard using its assigned name: Bifrost.Asgard/
It too failes with DNS entry not found.
