I was trying to get Captive Portals working on pfSense 2.3.2-RELEASE.

I was unable to get Captive Portals working for outside users to authenticate to internal Services.

However, going the other direction to have internal users authenticate to outside resources it worked instantly!

I just assumed that my use case was how Captive Portals were intended, but it appears they are called "reverse Captive Portals", or "Cut-Through Proxies" or "User Authentication Firewalls".  In any case, this is what I am looking for.  (Actually I am looking for an MFA Captive Portal but I believe I can tackle that piece with FreeRadius and Google Authenticater.)

From digging around I don't know if I implemented it incorrectly, or if in fact this is not currently possible with pfSense based on this:

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
