Hi, I'm setting up a pfSense firewall for evaluation purposed (2.3.2-Release-p1) and when I selected the option System > Advanced > Console Options > Console menu > Password protect the console menu and rebooted the firewall it does indeed prompt for login details but always reports that the login is incorrect. I can confirm the default admin account password is correct - though has been changed from the default - by login in the the WebGUI and via SSH - which has been enabled. Is this a known issue, or is the documentation failing to explain the function of this option, i.e. it is intended to deny console access.
      TIA.

It does what it says, on a normal functioning system. It should allow any user with the proper access to login. If the admin account is enabled, that should be able to login as expected, provided the correct password was entered.

Other users could login as well so long as they have a privilege granting them shell access.
