      Hello,

For quite a while I have been interested in pfSense, just for my basic home-user setup. I finally took the plunge and bought an older Netgate box on eBay, I believe it is Alix based. It was supposed to be a clean 2.3.2 install. I powered it up and rather than connect via console, I connected to the web interface. After logging in, I was taken into the wizard, where I just basically left the defaults. Much to my surprise, everything just worked. I didn't do any other configuration and everything appears to be defaults with no obvious changes, but web browsing, email, and other basic features just work.

My question is, did the previous owner do some type of pre-configuration or is this really all it takes to get up and running for a basic home setup?

I am impressed already with what I am seeing and how well everything works. I was prepared to have to learn about configurations and make changes but if this just works I'm even more impressed.

      Thanks,

      Adam
