      Hi!

I'm new to pfSense so please have patience for me. I'm having trouble with my pfSense router not connecting to the internet. My modem(Netgear cm400) allows me to connect to the internet if I directly connect my computer and my modem. But if I connect my router to the modem, it doesn't seem to work. My WAN and LAN are up. My LAN has an ip and my WAN says n/a. My router has 2 intel pro ethernet ports and a rosewill wireless pcie card. In addition, my opt1 wont go online even after I've bridged it to my LAN.

Thanks for Spending your time to read

        Shut off your router..

        Reboot your modem.

Then reboot your router and see if that does it..

Cable modems latch on to the MAC address of the device plugged into its ethernet port.

CM400 does not have its own router does it?

Thanks for reading my post. I tried that and it gave wan a ip but i could no longer connect to the webconfig. I then reset the router to factory settings and I still can not connect to the webconfig. The modem still works with giving internet but the router does not. i have my lan set to 192.168.1.1. The CM400 does not have a router. I used an old computer lying around and put in a wifi adapter and 2 ethernet ports. LAN is configured to em1 and WAN is configured to em0. I'm not sure what to do. I am very lost. Please help

Okay, I got the internet to work. Now i just need to setup the wifi card. I'm not sure if the card is recognized. My interfaces are em0, em1, and fxp0. For the internet, all I needed to do was to make an outbound rule for LAN to LAN with the source being the firewall. For the wifi card, do I need to install drivers before or is it already recognized? Thanks
