      Hi everyone.

I'm starting with pfsense. I came from the good and old terminal, with iptables firewall. But now is time to "upgrade" for the GUI life. :)

I'm studying the pfsense and doing some tests and it is great. I'm using the  2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 (amd64) version, that I believe is the newest one.

My final test was to backup and restore all the configs. In my test, I'm exporting the backup file, then I do some changes on rules, interface configs, etc, and then I try to restore the file that I exported before.

But, when I try to do this, the system shows a pop up with the message "Are you sure you wish to Restore Configuration?", then I click Yes, but nothing happens

The page just refresh with no message at all and the configs are not change.

I watched some youtube videos and read some posts, but couldn't find nothing about this.

I tried with different browsers, just for have sure that was not a client problem, but I got the same problem.

      Can anyone help me?

      Many tks

      regards

        Hi,
        Try again.
But : do NOT do this :
        @dpicon:

        It works then ?

Next step : do not backup everything, but only a small part - certainly not the RRD info.
        Do not edit.
        Does it work ?

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Hi Gertjan, tks for the reply,

I think I didn`t express myself very well. When I said that I changed some configurations  I mean that I changed on the webGui interface, not on the XML file. I did that just to have sure that the recovery really has returned all the previous configurations.

But, about the second question, I tried to backup just a small part and tried to recovery again, but the error persists. I tried with the DHCP area, Captive Portal, aliases, then I quitted.

What I think is really strange is to not receive any message of error, even on the log file.

Any new ideas would be great.

For now, just to have a way to load the backup configuration again, I logged by ssh terminal and manually replaced the config.xml on /cf/conf/ directory. That works, but I know thats not the right way to do it.

Well, again, tks for the suggestions.

          regards
