IPv6 /64 provided by DHCP6 over PPPoE
-
Hello,
My ISP provide me an /64 IPv6 prefix trough DHCP6 PPPoE.
Interface WAN :
IPv6 Address : 2a02:xxxx:0:xxxx:290:bff:fe4c:bdc1
IPv6 Link Local : fe80::290:bff:fe4c:bdc1%pppoe0
Subnet mask IPv6 : 64
Gateway IPv6 : fe80::230:88ff:fe04:851aBut is it possible with Track Interface to use part of my IPv6 /64 prefix on the LAN interface?
In my LAN interface configuration, when I define an IPv6 prefix ID, I'm directly "out of range : "The specified IPv6 Prefix ID is out of range. (wan) - (0) - (0)"
Is it possible with /64 ?
Thanks
Best Regards,
Fabien -
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but the entire /64 should be available for your use. I have no experience with IPv6 over PPPoE, but I get a /56 from my provider over cable modem and I can have up to 256 /64 networks. I had similar when I was using a 6in4 tunnel.

I think Track Interface for sure is based on the common concept of /64 subnet per LAN.
So now you can have only one LAN and with Track Interface, if your ISP supplies just a prefix /64.
You need more (say /60, /56 or /48) from your ISP, to be able to create more /64 LAN's.
Using "DHCPv6 Server & RA" for each of your LAN, you can ofcourse manage the Less Significant 64 part as you wish. Put a Switch. -
Have you tried the "Request only an IPv6 prefix" checkbox on WAN?

Yes. There is my config :

The first ISP in Belgium (Proximus) provide only one /64 per client :-(
