I'm trying to install tftpd on pfSense, but it isn't available via pkg manager on my current version of pfsense - 2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 (amd64) .
I understand that it is/was available on other versions. How would I get hold of it?

And there's still nothing changed since https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=125503.0 (or your previous duplicate thread that's been deleted meanwhile.)

That explains it…. I thought I had already posted a thread with this title but since I couldn't find it I thought I must have forgotten to click 'post'...
There was no reply to that other thread, so I thought I would start a different thread... That was about whether anyone had experience of setting up pfsense as a PXE server. This one is about the existance of tftpd for pfsense as a pkg which can be installed. You said it was available in 2.3.3 and 2.4 but I do not have an option of upgrading to those versions so what do I do?

Thanks, I've installed it now having upgraded to 2.3.4-DEVELOPMENT (amd64) .

I have installed tftpd but can't get it to work….
From a cmd prompt on the box I tried 'ls -l > /tftpboot/dirlist'
/tftpboot/dirlist exists
From a different FreeBSD box
tftp 192.168.1.1
get dirlist
Got ERROR packet: Unsupported option(s) requestedThe fact that I got a response shows that the tftp server is enabled
Any ideas on what is wrong?
When using the tftp server on FreeNAS, everything works as expected.

It seems that FreeBSD's tftp and tftp-hpa don't get on too well….

Well they didn't in 2011... maybe they still don't. How do I get around the problem?
