Going back to a JIMP message from long ago

**"There is also /etc/rc.create_full_backup which makes a compressed tar file of the entire filesystem.

You can't directly restore that (have to reinstall pfSense, then copy the backup file, and then restore it with /etc/rc.restore_full_backup) but if you need to do it that way, you can."**

These commands don't exist under current version under /etc and those names…  Is there something that replaces them or performs the same function under 2.3.x<3??

      TIA,
      Rick

The create/restore full backup scripts were removed a long time ago. They were no longer useful, and could leave the system in a messy inconsistent state.

All you need is the config.xml backup in nearly every case.

You could grab specific files/dirs with the Backup package but it's almost never needed.

If something breaks, reinstall and then restore config.xml.

            Thanks Jim,

Since I got my SG-4860 (with factory load and fresh package load/configure) it seems every package update has come with some level of grief.  I was just looking for another safety net on this core program update.  Duly noted.
