Hooked up 10Gbps LAN on 6100 to a UniFi Pro 48 using a Ubiquity Direct Connect Cable.
Physically connected on the 6100 to port labelled "WAN4" and then swapped LAN and WAN4's interface assignments and then rebooted the pfsense. Then renamed the WAN4 to LAN1 to avoid more confusion. I really dislike how they labelled these physically for this class of a router, and preferred something more generic like their old models.

Oh and the Meraki makes a great stand for the 6100 😀
We are in the process of moving out all Meraki hardware!

I've finally made the holes in the walls necessary to bring the 6100 into my rack. Now I'm wondering whether I should remove the brush cable manager and bring the two DACs through the holes next to the netgate. And while I'm at it, how do people route these DACs? Messy :(
Going to have to agree with the WAN3/4 labels being less than optimal.

Between this and my TR system, and despite the energy efficiency of the 6100 (thank you!) there's a little too much heat in this room. This guy is going to have to go upstairs. More holes at some point, and attic work....

Netgate SG-2100 Max, small but packs a punch.

Very powerful yet smaller than the DSL modem.

            (IMAGE: SG-2100 MAX)

Apple extreme WIFI N with huge external drive, and the DSL modem.

This provides big firewall tools inside a small footprint.

@bbaalen Nice, we use to use Crestron controlers for the RPX Polycom video conference systems.

@jonathanlee nice, we mostly do custom install residential projects and use Crestron to control everything.

@bbaalen some of the sites I worked on in Chicago years ago also had them control the shades on the windows lights would dim, and even projector screens. It's amazing what they can do with them.

@jonathanlee Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Though, most of the stuff you can just control with any pc or SoC like a raspberry pi. We made our own software system that runs on the Crestron hardware and can control other nodes that i can make from another Crestron processor, SoC or pc/server.

There are some Crestron libraries we use for controlling other Crestron devices, so that needs to run on either a 4-series processor or VC-4 room control software, but all other devices we support are in our own library that is compatible with all systems that can run .NET

Just replaced my entire home network running older UniFi gear with a Netgate 6100 and a brand new UniFi network behind it. I must say I am very pleased with how everything works. I'm using the 6100 as my DMZ firewall in front of the UDM-SE and for pfBlocker and Suricata (network-wide).

                            pfSense --> UDM-SE --> UniFi Aggregation --> UniFi Entrprise 48 --> smaller UniFi switches --> UniFi6 APs

Lots of link aggregation going on here! Just wish it was easier to find shorter DAC cables!

@styxl Thank you! If only I could find reputable 6" or 12" DAC cables. The smallest I could find were .5 meters from brands that I had heard of before. It could still look cleaner than this! Plus I should have removed the laptop/console cables dangling in the background!

@styxl I saw these on Amazon before, but I hadn't heard of them before. I'd consider buying these next time since I already bought these UniFi cables. Thanks!
