[SOLVED] dual nic help - fixing intel nic or buy new one?
I'm setting up my first ever pfSense VM within unRAID and I bought this card:
Dual Port GigaBit EtherNet PCI-e 2.1 1x Intel I350-T2V2 82575-T2 VT-c VMDq I/OAT
Initially it passed through fine and pfSense could see it, but pfSense now won't recognise it and says driver not found.
Assuming I can't fix or I've bought a duff card on eBay, I'm looking at the AOC-SGP-I2 at it's on the pfsense store so I'm assuming it's safe https://store.pfsense.org/AOC-SGP-I2/.
However, I've come across the AOC-SG-I2 as well which is cheaper - can someone tell me what the main difference is and I should I get one or stick with the SGP?
ok, found these links:
The SG is 82575EB and PCI 2.0
The SGP is i350 and PCI 2.1 and has more 'features'
Should I go for the i350 or is the 8257EB ok? I'm using for a home network and a 100/100 FTTP broadband connection that could be upgraded up to 1000/1000 (I know - insane and unnecesary, but who knows in the future!)
I've gone for the AOC-SGP-I2 - managed to find a new one for £80 including shipping. I already wasted a day yesterday trying to get a used card from eBay working - decided my time more valuable than saving a few bob on a used card, plus like the idea of the more modern spec.
plus it's one the pfSense team recommend so will save more time hopefully going forwards.
