      Hi Guys,

Is it possible to share Internet bandwidth between interfaces. So each LAN can use 40mbps down but if LAN1 needs 10mbit it an borrow from LAN2.

Or do I need to have a transparent PfSense box setup before this one? So that one does the traffic shaping between main PfSense and the internet?

If two instances of PfSense are needed, should I use ESXi or Proxmox? Hardware is a Quad Core J1900, 4GB ram and 120GB SSD. 4 Intel Nics

You're running into a similar problem I run into.

It's very confusing to balance 1 wan + 2 lan, while giving both lan the ability to use >50% simultaneously, without causing bufferbloat issues.

I have no idea how to help with that, sadly.

Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.

The only thing I've found it is to have a single LAN interface on the PFSense box and have something else route the traffic for the second vLAN. Then you can assign traffic to the other vLAN and it will borrow bandwidth when it is available.

            That solution is really sad.

I think I had a setup similar to what you're asking. I had dual NIC that I used for LAN and WLAN but also wanted to limit traffic. I used Foxale08's traffic limiting guide for the single LAN and just set it to both the LAN and WLAN Interface. It worked great and didn't show any problems but I no longer run that setup and simply use Foxale08's guide on a single LAN interface until I get VLANS setup. here is the link to his post (it's about half way down the page) - https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=63531.0
