Newbie for pfsense and firewalls in general.

I have pfsense 2.3.3 setup with mlppp (2x10/1 ADLS2+) which the Internet Provider is capable of doing.
A static IP has been provided. I understand I would need 2 more static IP.

I also have a managed switch.  Right now the system is setup with em0 to modem 1, em1 to modem 2 and em2 to LAN (managed Switch).  I also have a voip adpater connected to the switch.

I have read some users connecting the modems to the managed switch and setting a vlan for each.

Here is where a little knowledge gets dangerous.

wondering if CARP can be setup using MLPPP with the modems connected to the managed switch.

      Modem 1      Modem 2

      Managed Switch
                  |
      PFSense + PFSense
      Master      Backup

Second question:  should the voip adapter be on the switch default VLAN or 1 of the VLANS for one (or both) of the modem(s)

      All input is appriciated.
      Thanks

I too would like to know the answer to this.  I also have a similar MLPPP configuration and would like to know if CARP Failover will work.
