Logging from shell requires full address after upgrading to 2.3.3
-
Hi all!
This is super minor but slightly annoying - after I upgraded to 2.3.3, when I log into the firewall via SSH and enable shell mode (option 8), logging into other boxes requires me to type in the whole domain - i.e. ssh root@box.domain as opposed to root@box
Any ideas how to go back to just doing root@box without needing the domain?
Thanks!

Make sure the firewall domain name matches the domain name you're trying to lookup.
Basically you need to make the "search" line in /etc/resolv.conf match the domain you're after. There are a few ways that gets set but more or less it's: If you have "Allow DNS server list to be overridden by DHCP/PPP on WAN" set on System > General it takes your domain from DHCP/PPPoE. Otherwise it uses the domain set on System > General.

Thanks!
I edited the searchline to match my domain; I do have DNS override enabled because of Comcast's randomly blocking google DNS on my endā¦
