Imagine i have a pfsense with multiwan setup.

      One of the links fail.
I have in place either a rf power-socket (Something like this: http://www.kjell.com/?item=50230&path=304000000,325000000,330000000,330500000 and http://www.kjell.com/?item=50200&path=304000000,325000000,330000000,330500000 - (drivers: http://www.telldus.se/wiki/index.php?title=Huvudsida )  yes, i know they are swedish links) that will use a script that will power-cycle the modem/box for the link that have failed every X minutes until the link comes back online.
      Another solution: http://www.kjell.com/?item=39616&path=304000000,325000000,344500000 + drivers http://sourceforge.net/projects/sispmctl/ )

I have no problem using cli-config for it, but the usb-poweroutlet have the possibility to poll status for webbpage so it would be nice.

The first question is; will pfsense with bsd under the hood, run software written from linux?

If so, is it possible to detect and act on a multi-wan link failiure automaticlly?
Sending mail/executing script/etc? Preferably on a preset scheudled interval.

I'd like any thoughts, input, good/bad ideas etc.

      Regards,
      Rikard

PS. latest snapshot works well for me.
