Error changing root password on BETA4

hi-

i'm attempting to change the root passwd from the console shell with "passwd", and i'm getting:

passwd: pam_chauthtok(): error in service module

is there some other way to facilitate this?

As I understand, root and admin password is identical, so why not change it via the WebConfigurator?

You need to change it form the webConfigurator.  The shell is provided for your convenience only.
