      Hi,

      I purchased a SG-4860 about 1.5 years ago.

      Worked perfectly.
never used any of the incidents etc..

yesterday I did the built in update to update from 2.3.2 (if i recall) to 2.3.3_1 or 2.3.2_1..

upon it trying to reboot it would not come back up.

the only package installed was openvpn-export-client.
      otherwise it was pretty stock.

      the console just shows :

      Booting from Hard Disk...

      F1  pfSense

      F6 PXE
      Boot:  F1
      No /boot/loader

      FreeBSD/x86 boot
      Default: 0:ad(0,a)/boot/kernel/kernel
      boot:
      No /boot/kernel/kernel

      FreeBSD/x86 boot
      Default: 0:ad(0,a)/boot/kernel/kernel
      boot: No /boot/kernel/kernelNo /boot/kernel/kernel

      FreeBSD/x86 boot
      Default: 0:ad(0,a)/boot/kernel/kernel
      boot:

why would an update screw up my pretty stock pfsense router - and in any case, where do I download the firmware?

      Thanks

        Hi,

Can you please email support@netgate.com with the serial and/or order number and any additional information? From there we can work on identifying the root cause of the problem.

        Thank you,

        -James

          Hi and thanks James.

I reinstalled the firmware using the downloaded link you supplied.

          All good.

I did lose all my configs and certificates I had created in the last 2 months (recovery of them didn't work), but i had a backup from December which got me partly back on track.

Kind regards and thankfully it's not become faulty with the update.

          Andy
