My question involves using PFSense / Squid / and a 2012R2 Domain Controller to control traffic for user groups. My intention is to enable ldap services on PFSense, get it authenticated and talking to my domain controller with Active Directory. Then use Squid to control web traffic for certain groups (Teacher or Student Security Groups) I would like to block certain websites from the student security group but allow access for the teacher security group. First, is this possible? Secondly, does anybody know where any good tutorials can be found to set this up?

Or is there a better way?

      Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you several goals that are independent

Start with ad, then get squid involved, then figure out traffic shaping
