High latency on all links makes pfSense LAN link unstable
-
Hello guys (and ladies maybe :])
I had a problem today that happened because all my links were unstable at once. The problem and the solution is briefly described at: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=116263.0
The problem affected the stability of my box that I'd like to record:
-
SSH became unstable. I was able to connect, but my connection were dropped after some seconds.
-
webGUI interface became unstable. I had to click several times to access any page from the GUI.
I think this behavior would be expected if I was accessing my box over WAN (due to the frequent gateway change), but that's not the case. I was connected over the LAN, not WAN. I also tested the link connecting my notebook point-to-point directly to pfSense and the same happened: the LAN connection was unstable.
Apparently, the gateway change was affecting the LAN link in some way that I don't understand, reseting my connection frequently and making very hard to access pfSense over it. Maybe you guys can help me understand better if there is something wrong with my setup or if this is a bug we should track.
I am using 2.3.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64) built on Thu Mar 09 07:17:41 CST 2017. FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p17 (last version).
Best regards,
