      I have a Shuttle DS437
      http://global.shuttle.com/news/productsDetail?productId=1745

      running pfSense 2.3.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)

This device has to ports/outputs for video signals on board. DVI-I and HDMI. Both ports should be useable simultaneously. Two monitors can be used simultaneously.

I am trying desperately to make port for HDMI working. Port for DVI-I is working.

How to enable port for HDMI. Must it be enabled somewhere? Where? In BIOS? BIOS does not have entries for video ports. To switch them (primary).

I tested with severals cables for HDMI on different monitors with HDMI. These work with other sources with HDMI signals, but not with my DS437. Monitors never find HDMI for DS437.

On port DVI-I same time I do this signal DVI-I is present and shown. No sleeping of video signal.

How to get HDMI port working on DS437?

Do I need to install a driver?

Now the output from pfsense console ttyv0 is going to port DVI-I.

Can I send output for welcome screen and messages on ttyv0 to HDMI?

Or is it necessary to open a new console ttyv1 and bind it to port HDMI?

      How to do this?

Is there a console switching with ctrl-alt-F1 or ctrl-alt-F2 like in Linux? How to do this?

      Rgds

If there's no option to switch this in the BIOS you may be out of luck.

Is there some reason you need to use the HDMI output?

That box has serial ports you could use for console.

The default console driver in FreeBSD uses whatever the BIOS has configured as the primary display, there are no configuration options to change it in case the BIOS gets it wrong. There are no drivers either for the old sc(4) console because it assumes a standard VGA text mode is used. The newer vt(4) driver might have such options and drivers but it's not used in pfSense yet by default.
