pfSense unit has been contacting a list of IP addresses (nothing is behind the firewall yet) this is a new install of pfSense.

It has been contacting repetitively these addresses on port 53,  is this normal behavior - and what is the reason?

        Port 53 is DNS.
It probably tries to look for updates.

Those are root name servers for the gtld (Generic top-level domain) .net -> https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/net.html
