Most likely because you're the first one to ask.

Turns out it doesn't need an entry of its own because a custom entry is enough. Someone even wrote a guide:

EDIT:  Never mind my OP, below.  Got the information by going there without signing in.  The instructions look simple enough:

              pfSense
these instructions are for pfSense open source firewall
on the web frontend of pfSense go to the page where you setup dyndns services and select custom service.
              enter the following Update Url
              https://www.duckdns.org/update?domains=exampledomain&token=a7c4d0ad-114e-40ef-ba1d-d217904a50f2&ip=%IP%
              change the Result Match to
              OK
              the username can be empty
              the password can be empty

I assume the domain is whatever domain I choose (without the duckdns.org part), the token gets replaced with my actual token, and the ip is the parametrized thing ("%IP%") that's actually showing.

              OP:  I've gone to:

              https://www.duckdns.org/install.jsp

and tried hitting the pfSense box for the instructions.  But, nothing happens.  I tried with both Chrome and Firefox.  Could someone else try and see what happens?  If you can get the instructions, can you post them here?

                That isnt the point.

Everything is suppose to make as much sense as possible in pfSense so it needs a GUI option.

                  So…

                  @riahc3:

Question: Why isnt DuckDNS in DDNS?

Answer: Because nobody that uses DuckDNS has submitted a pull request with working code to add support for it.

I hadn't heard of it until this thread. We don't normally seek out random DNS providers to add on a whim.

Dude, Jim!!  Come on what kind of fly by night outfit.. Figured you guys would be burning the midnight oil seeking out every last ddns provider on the planet and adding them… And if they didn't have an api you could use - would be writing that for them so you could add them ;)
