X750e + 8Gb CF card

  • Hi,

Just reading the wiki about getting pfSense on the Watchguard 750e just realised I got an 8Gb card not a 4Gb card.

Will it still work or do I need to get a 4Gb card?

    Thanks

    Kimbie

It will work, even when you use the 4Gb image from pfSense.
The extra 4Gb space of the CF card won't be used.

I have used CF cards from 4Gb,8Gb and even 16Gb, normal speed and ultra fast speed.
The only type you must avoid, is the standard 4Gb Kingston CF cards, these are very slow
and cause errors during bootup and extend the bootup time.
Besides that, all other CF cards will work fine.

  • Try use SATA HDD + SATA/IDE converter (3$) from ebay.
This is best choice in any time.
