Is there a way to edit and manage the "Description" field of DHCP leases?  Right now STATUS -> DHCP LEASES displays the assigned IP addresses.  It's often hard to tell what device or host is tied to what IP address if the hostname is cryptic.  If you set a static IP address you have the ability to edit the description field, but not so if the host gets a dynamic IP (or at least as far as I can tell).

I'm basically trying to maintain a simple inventory of hosts in pfsense so I can figure out what device is what.

      Advice appreciated.

      Thanks!

You can assign a reservation but leave the IP blank so it will pull from pool but then you would have your description of the device via that mac address.

I've tried this a few times but I can't get it to work.  I add a static entry with the hostname and mac address and leave the IP address blank.  Then I delete the existing dynamic lease for that host and when it comes back onto the list it has a new dynamic IP address while the static entry still has a blank IP address.

          Any thoughts?
