I'm working with Comcast to diagnose some issues, and having a longer, higher detail RRD would be useful.  Right now, it seems like anything over 8 hours is rolled up to 5m step size.

I know I can do this conversion manually – sort of -- but I worry about durability.  I've got plenty of disk, and would like to use it for monitoring.

Can I do this in a durable way, that will survive adding new graphs, and ideally version upgrades?

      Thanks!

If you want that kind of control over RRD, you need to use an external monitoring system.

It seems like the built in one is sufficient other than time ranges.  Is it really so difficult to allow this to be customized?
