Was really looking forward to this unit.  I might still be I interested in the hardware.  Not sure I understand the hdmi console issue.  The unit does have a serial USB ftdi connection so it would be great if that could be used for console access.

Thought about using this if the ftdi is a viable option.

      https://www.amazon.com/GearMo-Header-TTL-232R-3V3-Windows-Support/dp/B004LBXO2A/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1495690888&sr=8-21&keywords=usb+ftdi

So the question becomes is the ftdi an option for serial and if we can then just ignore or disable the hdmi?

Specs show serial option via ftdi

      http://www.adiengineering.com/products/minnowboard-turbot-duale/

See the area circled in red for ftdi location.

Assuming the pin-out works (I've not checked, but I'm likely to this afternoon/evening) then yes.

The units will be sold under a different name than SG-2330/2340 on Amazon by Netgate. Should happen this week!

Why was there an HDMI output anyways?

Is this just to sell off the batch? Or will they still be manufactured? Would people who order these be able to get PFsense gold or is it more likely they'll be minnowboard or similar branding?

Am I jumping ahead to questions that aren't yet answerable?

Different chipset from what were were using on our other SG series devices. Having HDMI is a plus for remote offices with non-tech staff.

                  These are good questions.

No, it's not just to sell off the batch, if the product sales perform we we want to continue selling it. No Gold or pfSense preinstalled, these units will be sold as kits on Amazon. The units will probably be sold under Turbot Dual-e or T2E name.

Most likely, it's not up yet so I don't know for sure.

Thanks, Jamie Th. answered my question on the marketplace already.
Most likely you'll start with .com and expand to .co.uk and .de if you can work out shipping and VAT challenges.
                        We'll see.

Question is what version of pfsense can be installed on this unit?  If it only the SG-1000 then that is a really stripped down version.  Hopefully the community edition can be installed.

They can take the full version of pfSense. Regular memstick, no special requirements for image type, but it does need 2.4 since it requires UEFI.

Currently FreeBSD doesn't support the SD card socket but drivers for that are coming and should be in before too long.

Just purchased one.  If we were to want to run the licensed version of pfsense is that possible?  Pay a fee of some kind?

You mean pfSense factory? Factory isn't "licensed". There are no major differences between factory and community edition, just a way to point out an official pfSense system from DIY one.
