      I've been toying with Bind master/slave configurations (two pfSense syncing their internal.domain.com DNS info)

      It's semi-working, but I believe I narrowed down my issue to this: on the master, whenever I change anything in my domain records, the serial on the master doesn't change and stays at the same value.

      My understanding is that whenever the master is updated, the serial increases and the fact that the serial becomes different on the master than it is on the slave prompts the slave to update it's record.

      Is there any configuration on the pfSense bind package that could prevent my serial from updating on the master?

      EDIT: I am running pfSense 2.3.4 and bind package 9.11_3 (both latest release versions as of this port)

        @Mike:

        This was how package used to do but some time ago this field is manually updated. You can add a value based on YYYMMDDNN or just delete it and save config.
