      Hi guys, hope someone can help with this.

      Before introducing my new pfsense box, my configuration was as follows:

      ISP modem <–---> Asus dsl-ac68u router <----->  W/LAN devices

      On the Asus router for internet access, I had to configure WAN Ethernet to point to the ISP modem (LAN port 1 on Asus router is set to 192.168.1.3 with the default gateway set to 192.168.1.2 which is the modem). This works fine.

      I have now deployed a pfsense box so the new set up is:

      ISP modem <-----> pfsense box <-----> Asus dsl-ac68u router

      I have configured the LAN interface on the pfsense box (192.168.2.1) for DHCP etc and to test it works, I connected my PC direct and receive an IP and I have full internet access.

      I am stuck with what to do to get the Asus router working as an access point. It doesn't have a dedicated access point or bridge mode to select. I turned off DHCP and NAT on the Asus router and set the LAN IP to 192.168.2.100. I then configured the WAN Ethernet port (which connects to the pfsense LAN port) as "automatically detect" however there is a duplicate IP address error when I do this.

      I then tried to statically configure it with 192.168.2.101 as the port and set the gateway as the pfsense box (192.168.2.1). Again, the Asus router tells me there is a duplicate IP address on the Ethernet WAN port. I know that there is nothing else using these IPs (which are also outside of the DHCP scope set on LAN interface on pfsense).

      Should I disable DHCP on the pfsense box and re-enable it on the Asus router? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

        Not sure if this will work for Asus, but it sure works for Linksys wireless routers.

        I think Asus switch is trying to tell you, you have two of the same network double netted.

        modem <–--->pfSene (192.168.2.0)<–--->Asus (192.168.2.0), this will definitely confuse the equipment.

        1. Disable dhcp and routing on Asus router.
        2.Plug wire from LAN of pfSense into yellow (switch LAN) port of Asus wireless router.

        Don't use blue WAN port on Asus router. This should turn the Asus into a switch with wireless. Everything on wireless and wired will be on same network. Do not use the blue port unless

        If you want to use WAN port do this: modem <–--->pfSene (192.168.2.0)<----->Asus (192.168.3.0), put Asus network  on different set of IP.

        Good luck
