IP addressing Wan And Lan Ports
-
Hello , I am a super Noob here, I am wondering what addresses to assign to the WAN and LAN Ports if i want them each static.
the range i would like them in would be 192.168.0.x sort of format, I have no idea what to use as an address for the Wan and Lan Ports.
is it a range that i use for the two IP addresses? I am completely clueless with the addressing.
Thank You Very Much :)

Well your wan IP would have to be a static on the network your connecting the wan too.. Normally this is the internet! Or if behind some other router already - whatever network that router is using would determine what network you would have to put on the wan of pfsense behind it.
As to your LAN - use whatever network you want! In the rfc1918 space, 192.168/16, 10/8, 172.16/12 or any public space that has been assigned to you, etc.. Just use the default of pfsense would most likely be fine - unless that is what your wan network is.. 192.168.1/24
