Hi, I setup IPSEC VPN and so far its been working for Mac and Linux Ubuntu users.
But i can't get it to work on Windows using it's build-in IPSEC / L2TP VPN client. (windows 10)
From reading a few other articles this seems to be a known problem? Can someone explain to me why it doesn't work?

Is there a workaround? like a third party VPN client?

      Thank you.

      Regards

It's a problem between the Windows client and strongSwan. Search around a bit, you'll find more references.

The workaround is to use a proper modern IPsec setup with IKEv2 rather than the older L2TP style.

Hi, for those who are interested, I found a third party client (free) Shrew Soft that works.

          Hope this helps.

          Thank you.

Shrew Soft has not been updated in years, and there are many reports of problems with it on Windows 10.

            Just use IKEv2.

              Thank you for the suggestion.
IKEv2 from what I'm reading involves shipping certs to your users and installing them. (correct me if I'm wrong on this)
And for that reason, If I go with IKEv2, I may as well go with OpenVPN.

              Regards.
