No WAN connection after xfinity modem reset/power cycle

  • Thanks in advance for any help.

    Whenever I reset or power cycle my xfinity modem, I lose connection on my wan interface. I can access all my other Local interfaces from each other but I can't reach the internet. The WAN interface shows an IP address of "n/a".

    Things I've tried:

    • resetting/power cycling the modem
    • resting/power cycling the pfsense router
    • disabling and re-enabling the WAN interface

    The only thing that seems to work is reinstalling pfsense but that's a pain in the butt.
