      Hi Everybody,

      I'm new to pfsense and security and i need your help setting up my pfsense to monitor my home network.

      I was able to install and setup a pfsense virtual machine on Hyper-V server 2012 R2. I can access the web interface from my LAN. What i need now is to make my pfsense VM as a firewall, so that i can monitor my network. I want all internal and external traffiic to trasit via this VM.

      For the time being my host machine is connected directly to my ISP router internet LAN port and i would like to keep it like this,if possible.

      Current network :

      ISP router LAN IP adress : 192.168.1.254  (host Machine connected directly to one of the 4 ethernet ports)
      PFSENSE LAN ADDRESS : 192.168.1.15
      PFSENSE WAN ADDRESS : 192.168.1.14
      GATEWAY (ISP ROUTER) : 192.168.1.254

      Thank you in advance for your help!!

        @TAB_TAB:

        …What i need now is to make my pfsense VM as a firewall...

        And where's the question, e.g. what have you tried that didn't work?

        @TAB_TAB:

        PFSENSE LAN ADDRESS : 192.168.1.15
        PFSENSE WAN ADDRESS : 192.168.1.14

        This is never going to work.
        LAN and WAN have to be on different subnets for a router to function (Yes, there are exceptions but don't worry about them).

            And why do you wan't to leave your hyper-v Host unprotected?
            In my eyes it should be behind the PFsense VM
