Is it possible for pfSense to be a true transparent bridge and do the PPPoE authentication while the next router gets the ISP provided IP? I'm looking at the Eero mesh APs but they don't currently do PPPoE and need a router in front. I don't think it is possible, but I'd like to double check.

ISP Modem > pfSense > Eero

What you describe isn't a "true transparent bridge" but a "half bridge".

And currently pfSense cannot act in that role.
