    I am installing memstick 2.3.4 serial. Everything is fine until it reboots. it goes all the way until the messsages "re0 link state UP, re1 link state UP" then nothing happens after that. It will not proceed to the part where i assign lan and wan interfaces. It does not respond even though i kept on hitting 'enter'. i am installing on a Solana Tech m itx mini computer router with intel 1037U, 2GB RAM, 16GB SSD, 2x ethernet.

    Any ideas?

      @ancheta61:

      ….
      Any ideas?

      Only one : "re0" stand for a RealTek chipset NIC. These NIC's have a huge history, not all of them have a happy ending.

      No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
      Edit : and where are the logs ??

        I had a problem where it hung after the reboot (don't remember exactly what point.) that was solved by installing from an old 1GB usb drive instead of the 32GB brand new I was trying to use.

          Sounds like you are looking at the wrong console.

          Usually the last thing it will report is ' trying to mount root…' and then you only see system messages such as link status changes. At that point the output switches to the primary console only until bootup completes.

          So if you're looking at a video console check serial is vice versa. Or force the primary console to the one you are looking at:
