Redirecting Web Requests
-
Hello All,
So initially i had 1 web server and pfsense had some port fow rules set up on 80 and 443 to the apache host all worked well.
Now i have a new requirement to have some more web servers within the same network.
So i started looking at apache2 proxypass but then all web requests will be hitting the web server and then get redirect to the other web servers based on the request.
i don't like that idea so i then started looking to directing the traffic with pfsense via something like squid reverse proxy and got a bit lost
would one of you be able to advise on the best course of action to best manage the above scenario and possible a guid or tutorial on how to set it all up?
Thanks

You can do that, forward requests to the correct server based on the host-header, using Reverse Squid or HAProxy.
HAProxy is more capable but potentially more complex: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Haproxy_package
