      hey all-

i'm using pfsense BETA4 on a soekris box to redirect packets from the WAN to an internal FBSD 5.4 server. Sicne the cutover to pfsense, I've noticed an endless stream of:

frizzle kernel: em0: discard oversize frame (ether type 800 flags 3 len 1514 > max 1506)
frizzle kernel: em0: discard oversize frame (ether type 800 flags 3 len 1514 > max 1506)
frizzle kernel: em0: discard oversize frame (ether type 800 flags 3 len 1514 > max 1506)
      …

on my FBSD machine. Can I/Do I need to massage the MTUs in pfsense to fix this?

      d.

You may want to track down the box that is spewing the large packets and change the mtu down to 1500.

On all interfaces except LAN.  And even then I think it only kicks in if an optional interface is a WAN interface.
