      Hi

Does anyone else have a virgin media v6 box and issues with downloading the epg/negotiation under network services, whilst using openvpn?

I cannot seem to get it to work, and cannot seem to see anything that stands out

      Thanks in advance!

Not a virgin user in sight. :)

Is this just locally or are you trying watch something through the VPN?

If it's the latter then it won't work if it's like Sky Q, the Q system is intelligent and and only allows endpoints on the same LAN segment, i.e. not through a VPN.

Tried a lot of things and gave up!

it is just locally, all network services such as on demand work fine, it just seems to be every few week the box trys to negotiate and download the epg, in which it fails

I cannot seem to track down where, I have all traffic going through the vpn apart from devices like my PS4, which connects no problem, it just seems to be the v6 box thats a pain!

so you have virgin cable in the house goes to the super hub, which of course is in bridge mode,  that goes into pfSense, comes out on the LAN side and feeds the v6 box, where does the VPN come in this equation?

I have my pfsense box handling all of my traffic on the network and have a openvpn (PIA) client setup for all traffic apart from my PS4 and my V6 box

everything is working fine on the V6 box apart from negotiation(downloading of epgs)

Strange. Have you tried changing the port that OpenVPN is using, usually it's something around 1155, try another port.

When you say turn off, you mean disabled or with no sessions?

I will try a different port and see how that goes,

yes i disabled openvpn and the v6 box downloaded the epg no problem, I am having to do this every week in order to keep it working, but it would be great if I didn't have to!
