      Hi,

I'm in the process of upgrading storage on some other equipment and have a left over Samsung 850 EVO 250GB mSATA SSD. It's mSATA so it should fit in our SG-2440.

Seeing as PFSense 2.4 is released I've decided to do a fresh install to move to ZFS. With that in mind I thought I might as well install the SSD at the same time.

Apart from making sure the SSD fits in the slot and taking a configuration backup of PFSense is there anything else i should considering before install PFSense 2.4 on the SSD?

      Thanks.

Put the mSATS in, download the ADI image with serial console form the download server for memstick installation
and prepare the usb pen drive with it, boot from the usb pen drive and install to that mSATA, choosing ZFS enables
the TRIM support for that mSATA by default, play back your configuration into that box. Don´t forget to change the
boot order before your installation and also after the installation you must change it back then to the mSATA to boot
from. If you may want to be sure to get it twice on your machine, you may also do a fresh install on the eMMC storage
        as well. That`s it.

          Perfect. Thanks for that.

Great tip on installing the software on both the SSD and the eMMC.
