I have my main DNS hosted on my registrar, i have set up bind internally on pFsense and set up what i thought would be local overrides to hosts/servers that are internal to my firewall and pointed all the local internal clients at the new pFsense bind expecting the resolution to use the local A record if it had one and look up the record on the registrar if it did not have one.

This is not working as it generally returns the A record from the remote DNS server at the registrar even when there is a "local" A record.

Is there some documentation somewhere about doing this with bind and pFsense - or am i barking up the wrong tree?
