i have old laptop with intel(r) wireless wifi link 4965agn

and i have installed pfSense latest version and i can access to webconfigurator over the lan and everything is good
but it seems my wireless not supported because i'm getting message saying ( hostapd mode not supported ) and by default it's like disabled

when i enable it via webconfigurator interfaces/wireless i added from there it's ok until now if i add the wlan0 to interfaces and and save apply changes after that i can't access to the webconfigurator even if i reboot the system unless if i reset to factory defaults and it backs fine only 1 interface and it's the lan

is there way i can use pfSense latest version to bridge from wireless to lan i mean i search a lot there is no option to connect available wifi near me

like this in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z3V8LJIy8g

it's available in windows and everything is fine but i want to be with this world's most trusted open source firewall pfsense

What are you trying to do with that wireless adapter?

That device is not capable of acting as an access point, it can only be used as a client, such as connecting to an external AP to form a wireless WAN connection.

Not WiFi adapters are able to act in all modes! So if you want that your WiFi card is doing something special or
things you need, you may better sorted with one card that is supporting what you are trying to realize! Here
are some well known cards and what they are able to support under FreeBSD.

it's available in windows and everything is fine

Fairly said, Windows is not Linux and both are not BSD!

          Supported wifi cards under pfSense
Please fell free to check both tabs to get all information about the drivers and supported cards.
Here are three I was using in the past together with pfSense:

          • UBNT SR71-E (miniPCIe full length)

          • Compex WLE200NX (miniPCIe full length)

          • No name Atheros AR9462 (miniPCie half length)
Dual band and support 5GHz & 2,4GHz wireless AP mode!

          • Wistron DNMA92 with Atheros AR9220 (miniPCI)

Get a true AP, or use whatever old wifi router you have laying around as an AP to connect wifi to your lan network.
